The CoreBlock Plug is a uniquely designed, all-plastic solution featuring a 3-inch diameter puck, 3/8-inch thick, topped with a 1.5-inch diameter puck that stands 1 inch high. This innovative structure attaches securely to the bottom of your split-barrel sampler with a friction fit. As you lower the sampler into the hollow shaft of the auger and advance to the desired depth, the plug prevents soil cuttings from entering the auger. When driven by a 140-pound hammer, the outer portion disintegrates, allowing the inner portion to rise with the soil sample. After retrieval, simply replace it with a new CoreBlock Plug and repeat the process effortlessly.
